Sharon Kay Sowinski was a loving, caring, compassionate, woman with a zest for life. She went home peacefully to be with the Lord Jesus on March 16, 2017. Sharon enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. She was more than a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a friend to all who was always there to listen and care for those in need. Sharon is deeply missed.
She is preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her daughter, Jennifer Sowinski, grandmother, Elizabeth Jane Hamon, parents Fred and Margie Bucher, brother, Fred Bucher Jr.; nephew, Derrick Bucher, sisters, Deborah Bucher-Morgan, and Dawne Casseday, and Dakota, her beloved Pomeranian, who she affectionately called 'Kody-bug.'
Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, William; their children, Chrystalyn (David) Taylor and Todd (Meghan) Sowinski, whom she always said were her greatest accomplishment in life. Sharon leaves her beautiful grandson, Liam Sowinski, who was her pride and joy; brother, Steven (Andrea) Bucher, their children Nathaniel and Amber Bucher, brother-in-law, Michael Casseday, great niece, Riley Casseday, sister-in-Iaw, Laurie DeLucca, and nephew, Matt DeLucca.
A memorial service will be held 6 PM Sunday, March 19th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main Street, Kent, with calling hours being held from 4 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested that donations be made to any Cancer, COPD, or Palliative Care organization or one of the following organizations: Cleveland Clinic Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, Humane Society of Summit County, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and United Cerebral Palsy.
