Shirley A. Oblak, 64, of Brimfield, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center. She was born January 28, 1946 in Akron, to Forrest and Trayland "Jean Miller" (Roland) Haggerty. Shirley was Mrs. Claus for the Brimfield Police Department and helped raise funds for their Shop with a Cop Program. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Shirley is survived by her husband of 16 years, George Oblak; son, Eric Beck of Kent; daughters, Kimberly Beck and Tonya Beck both of Kent; ten grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Haggerty of Rootstown, Roger (Lauren Eisenburg) Haggerty of Kent and Robert Bennett of Akron; many nieces and nephews; friend and former husband, Howard Beck of Kent; and friend, Maryetta Surnak of Rootstown. She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Haggerty; mother, Jean Miller; and brother, Kenny Haggerty. Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday March 2nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Bonnie Montgomery officiating, where friends may gather one hour preceding the services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brimfield Police Department K-9 Unit or the Brimfield Police Department Shop with a Cop Program, 1287 Tallmadge Road, Kent, Ohio 44240.
