Stanley Drongowski of Kent died peacefully Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Stow Glen Care Center to join the loves of his life, his wives Grace Ann (Kline) and Dorothy (Horning).
Born in Kent on April 23, 1919 to Marianna (Rudniczka) and Antoni Drongowski, he attended St. Patrick School and Kent Roosevelt High School. His studies at Kent State were interrupted in order to serve in the Pacific Theater in World War II. This service was among the proudest achievements of his life. Following the war he completed school and began his life. Family was central to him and his greatest joy in life was his family to which he was devoted to the end. A vacation made no sense to him if one of his children or grandchildren was not at the end of the journey.
He leaves behind his children, Father Stan, O.P. of Grand Rapids, MI; Steve (Karen) of Millersburg; Mary (Martin) Dworakowski of Cuyahoga Falls; Ann Dodds of Kent; Susan (David) Barry of Uniontown; Laure Crowder of Beria; Amy Reilly of Denver, CO; and Shari (Abi) Chandra of Tampa, FL. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitors may call on the family at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home in Kent on Sunday, January 29 from 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., January 30, at St. Patrick Church in Kent. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorials May be made to St. Patrick's School Endowment Fund, 127 Portage Street, Kent, OH 44240 or the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great, 1910 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago IL 60608.
