Stanley R. Jarosz, 71, of Rootstown, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
He was born November 4, 1939 in Niagara Falls, NY to Leo W. and Wanda (Waclawek) Jarosz. Stan was a graduate of Erie County Technical Institute in Buffalo, NY. He co-founded Pro-Fab, Inc., a structural and miscellaneous steel company, with his partner and dear friend, Bill Simpson. Stan was well respected by his colleagues. He was a member of the Builders Exchange of Akron and inducted into the Portage County Sports Hall of Fame.
He really enjoyed working with the boys as a baseball coach for the Brimfield Athletic Association. Stan also took much pleasure in fishing from the time of his boyhood in Niagara Falls through the introducing and teaching his children and grandchildren and son-in-law to the joys of fishing. For his own pleasure, he relaxed by playing his guitars, but even better was involving friends and/ or family in a sing-a-long. He was an excellent athlete in high school (baseball and swimming) followed by an enthusiastic involvement in bowling, playing softball and especially golf as he matured.
He was a friendly, caring man and a devoted grandfather to eleven grandchildren. A big man with a big heart, spontaneous sense of humor, loved by so many, generous with his time and even more generous with his hugs, he lived by the mantra "cookies and cake and ice cream and pie" to the delight of his grandchildren. We will miss his twinkling eyes when he teases, fishing trips on the lake and his fishing stories, parenting advice, his opinion of the current sports teams, and his Elvis karaoke on New Year's Eve. We already miss his smile and hearty laugh, the sound of his songs and guitar wafting through the house, and his creative knack for nicknames, especially the one for Ginger Rose. "I love you always and forever".
He is survived by his wife, C. Jean (Fisher) Jarosz; sons, Kenneth (Jo) Jarosz of Akron, Dale (Laura) Jarosz of Dunedin, FL and Gary (Paula) Jarosz of Ravenna; daughter, Sheryl (David) Stroud Bryant of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan Jarosz; Carli and Codie Jarosz; Fisher, Madison and Cameron Stroud; Rebecca, Aidan, Molly and Lydia Bryant; brother, Leo (Betsy) Jarosz of Lewiston, NY; sister, Barbara (Donald) Lapoint of Roseville, CA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Sherman of Canandaigua, NY; seven nieces and four nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.
