Theresa E. Goodhart (Montoni), whose life was characterized by love of the Lord and love of her family, was called to be an angel on Monday, October 6, 2014. She was 89 and lived in Kent, Ohio all of her life.
The 13th of 15 children to parents Marion Montoni and Lena DeBernaldi, Theresa was born on February 1, 1925 in Kent. The Montonis instilled in their children the value of loving others, hard work, honesty, and devotion. Any of those fortunate to have known her were able to feel the love she had for others and to see these values alive and flourishing.
On May 1, 1948, Theresa married the love of her life, Norman Lynn Goodhart. Together they had three children: Linda Sue, Karen Lynn, and Dennis Lynn.
Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent her days making her home the kind of place others loved to spend time in. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kent.
Theresa is survived by her devoted children, Karen L. (Dave) Leggett of Kent and Dennis L. (Elaine) Goodhart of Kent.
Theresa was a loving grandmother and is survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild: Lindi (Marc) Long (and their daughter Kayden Long), Norman Shaffer, Angela Goodhart and Nathan Goodhart; she was also a loving foster grandmother to Andrew Pepley. Theresa also leaves behind her loving Goddaughter, Cynthia Waller, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Theresa stayed active in her family's lives and still enjoyed spending, many enjoyable hours with her two "best buddies," sister-in-law, Mary Jane Montoni; and niece, Delores Orcutt.
Theresa joins the kingdom of angels where she is reunited with her husband, Norman Goodhart; daughter, Linda Goodhart; parents Marion and Lena Montoni; and the siblings who have passed before her: Lena Ubri, John Montoni, Frank Montoni, Rose Montemaggiorie, Lawrence Montoni, Irene Giovangnoli, Mary Sullivan, Edith Miller, Armenia Glod, William Montoni, Helen Swiderski, Joseph Montoni, Anna Montoni, and Thelma Smith.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Others stay awhile and leave footprints in our hearts and we are never the same again. Thank you, Noni, for leaving footprints in all of our hearts. Our lives and hearts are forever changed because of you.
