Tomiko Gabel, 86, of Stow, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1929 in Ehime-Ken, Japan to Kameji (Suger) Shimizu.
She left her native country in 1963 embracing her new country by becoming an America citizen in 1965. Her Son's friends would tell how they saw her working in her yard or walking down Graham Road to the Oregon Trails Shopping Plaza to pick up some meat at Kirby's or do some shopping in Drug Mart. She also enjoyed watching the Food Channel so she could find new recipes to make for her Grandsons. The boys were the absolute joy of her life.
She is survived by her son: Herman (Laura) Gabel of Northfield Center; Grandsons, Cole and Hunter. Her Sister in laws: Flora Yekel of Bowerston, Peg Gabel of Akron, and Ruth Bair of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, George S Gabel and in-laws Herman, Jacob, Rhoda, Alvin, Seraphine, and Kathleen.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 PM Sunday, April 17th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street Kent, OH. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 18 at Standing Rock Cemetery.
