Vernon L. Kauffman passed away peacefully at 2:40 p.m. on August 22, 2016, surrounded by his family.
He was a resident of Chagrin Falls for over 35 years. Vernon was born in Pennsylvania on February 20, 1932. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 and was stationed in Germany. He graduated first in his class from Kent State University Architectural School. He was a prominent architect with Dalton, Dalton & Newport for over 30 years. He was also a fine artist, painter, avid golfer and tennis player.
Vernon passed with his 2 daughters, Liz and Leslie; granddaughter, Tara; former wife, Beatrice, by his side. He is survived by brothers, Robert, Ernest; and sister, Jean. He is also survived by 1 great-grandchild, Mila. Special thanks to his dear friends, Joe Miller and Marilyn Evans. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Lula Kauffman; and brother, Warren.

An artist's reception to honor Vern Kauffman will be held at the Chagrin Falls Library on Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. Paintings on display w/refreshments.
