Walter C. Knapp II was born on February 19, 1952, to Walter and Thelma Knapp. He grew up in Brimfield and later moved to Kent when he was in high school. After graduating from high school, Walter went on to serve his country in the United States Army.
After completing his service, Walter attended Muskingum Area Technical College. He then dedicated many years of his life to public service and eventually retired from the city of Cuyahoga Falls.
Walter enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home and in his later years, could be seen riding his motorcycle. He also was known to take trips to local casinos.
Walter is survived by his three children, Melinda (John) Reminder of Streetsboro; Rebecca (Robert) Frisina of Hudson; and Walter C. (Sunshine) Knapp III, of Rota, Spain. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Breanna and Madison Curry; and Giana, Carmella, and Elena Frisina. His brothers, Greg and Gary Knapp, and his sister, Tammy Fuller, will also deeply miss him.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Keith, and his sister Cheri. Walter will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00AM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Funeral Home.
