William L. Darling, 75, of Kent, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at his home.
He was born December 7, 1940 in Port Clinton, to John C. and Gayetta J. (Beck) Darling. Bill was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War. He was Director of Consumer Lending City Bank. Bill was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kent and sang in the choir. Also he was a former member of the Jaycees and Knights of Columbus. Bill served on the Kent Social Service and Visiting Nurses Board. He loved golfing, fishing and all things Ohio State and Cleveland sports.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie (Winkler) Darling, whom he married on February 27, 1965; daughters, Jane (David) Hall of Logan, Wendy (Col. Bryan) Davis of Beavercreek and Christine (David) Weiss of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren, Daniel Weiss, Sarah Hall, Benjamin Weiss, Kevin Davis, Samuel Hall, Elspeth Weiss and Catherine Davis; sister, Nancy (William) Harrison of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Gayetta J. (Beck) Darling.
Calling hours will be held 5-7 PM Thursday, June 2nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 3rd at St. Patrick Church in Kent. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
