William Franklin Russell

William Franklin Russell, 63, of Kent, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.  He was born in Barberton on September 1, 1961 to the late Charles and Ann Russell. He was a graduate of Doylestown High School, where he excelled in sports and ran cross country, just as his son Brock is doing now.  William went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Akron.  He retired from U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company.

He was a history buff and enjoyed reading.  He loved watching sports, especially the Browns and Guardians.  William had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves his loving wife Kerry; two sons Blake and Brock, whom he loved dearly and was very proud of; cousins Vickie and Theresa; father and mother-in-law David and Marilyn Ohlin; sister-in-law Marcy (Ed) Cinco and nephews, David and Kyle.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
