William M. Sorboro, 92, of Rootstown, died Sunday, January 17, 2016.
He was born January 1, 1924 in Ravenna to Dominic and Carmella (Farina) Sorboro. He was a veteran of the U.S Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated The Jewel Box in downtown Kent and then moved to the University Plaza.
He is survived by son, William (Kim) Sorboro of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters, Lynn (Philip) Moore of Murrieta, CA, Sandra Ramsey of Elmira, NY, Rochelle (Jim) Thomas of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Bret Mileski, Natalie Hardy, Ashley Forester, Mike Sorboro, Kati Sorboro, Jill Sorboro, Chad Thomas, Amanda Hunt, Jamie Gladu, and Sydney Ramsey; seventeen great grandchildren; brothers, Louis Sorboro of Marco Island, FL and James Sorboro of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters, Marietta Jobe of Randolph and Elizabeth James of Rootstown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Caniglia) Sorboro in 2008, brothers, Angelo Sorboro, Peter Sorboro, Joseph Sorboro, and Carl Sorboro; and sister, Judith Johns.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 22nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Entombment will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
