Wm. Dale Miller, 79, of Kent, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Hospice of Medina.
He was born September 19, 1936 in Mount Clare, WV to William Lewis and Veva (Hardman) Miller. He retired in 1991 after 30 years as a bus driver with the Kent City Schools. He won numerous Bus Rodeo competitions including the State Level. He was a KSU Policeman from 1964-1970 and worked on the grounds crew. He was a member of the Tree City Campers and travelled extensively throughout the US and Canada. He had been active as a judge for the Soap Box Derby races. He bowled in the All-Star Travelling League for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Nicholson) Miller, whom he married on April 13, 1957; daughter, Vanita Gale (Gary) Coleman of Ravenna; son, Dale (Brad Lane) Miller Jr. of Brimfield; grandchildren, Ben Ethan Coleman of Ravenna and Jack Ryan Coleman of Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia James; and brother, Fred Miller.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Monday, February 29th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1st with Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in his honor to any cancer support group.
