Charles Thomas Waligura Jr., 80, of Rootstown, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side. He was born in Martin’s Ferry, OH on May 23, 1943 to the late Thomas Charles Waligura Sr. and Mary Henrietta Waligura. Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph and was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus. He was a welder and machinist at Chrysler for 39 years. He bought a 21-acre farm in 1976 and spent most of his life tending to the land and raising cattle. No matter the weather, you could always find him outside. Charles had a very bold personality and could always tell you a wild story. He had a good heart and always wore a smile on his face. He was always there to help anyone in need, no matter if he knew you or not.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Josephine Matuska Waligura; his son Brian Evan Waligura and his brother Andrew Waligura.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria-Fe Waligura; children, Scott Waligura, Bradley David Waligura, Evan Michael Waligura, Chanelle Denice Waligura, Brian Charles Waligura and Alexis Marie Waligura; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260, with the Rev. Fr. Zachary Coulter as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 5:00-7:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240 and one hour prior to Mass from 10:00-11:00AM on Thursday at the church.
