Clifford W. Laney

Clifford W. Laney, age 86, of Kent, OH, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Washington Square Nursing Center in Warren, OH.

Clifford was born September 25, 1935 in Kimport, PA to the late Clifford and Gertrude (Passmore) Laney.

He was in The Air Force during the Korean Conflict in the 1950s.  He trained at Sampson Air Force Base in New York, stationed at Otis Air Force Base in Falmouth, Mass for four years.  After his service he worked at Cuyahoga Machine & Welding, Davey Compressor, and Davey Drill Ridge as a welder.  The Air Force was his life, he was in the Confederate Air Force, and he had a great love for airplanes.  He was a lover of playing guitar, and when a question or fact came by him, he could be heard saying, “Is that right?”

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Laney; daughters, Karen (Allen) Rittmann, Norma Moffatt, Dodie (Mark) Wallace, Cheryl (Brian) Oberholtzer; sister, Sharon (Orville) Hissom; grandchildren, Christie Moorman, Cody Shingleton, Richard Rittmann; 6 great-grandchildren.  He had 3 wonderful sons-in-law that were a great help in his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diana Lyn Laney.

Calling hours will be held 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2022 at Christian Life Center, 1972 East Summit St, Kent, OH 44240.  Followed by the Funeral services at 11:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2022, at Christian Life Center.  Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park with Air Force Honors.
